AMD plans to fight speculation in sales of the Radeon RX 6000

NVIDIA recently introduced a new line of GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards, and at the moment the sales situation is quite sad – video cards are in very short supply, as the company can not supply the required number of copies. Against this background, speculators who resell cards at significantly higher prices than those recommended by NVIDIA will win.

AMD is now preparing to introduce a new line of Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards, and it is expected that the fate of these graphics cards may be the same. Because of this, the company decided to take a number of measures to combat speculation. The relevant recommendation document, which the company sent to its partners, appeared on the Internet.

The company recommends closely monitoring and processing orders manually, setting a small limit on one-handed sales, blocking bots and other automatic over-the-counter tools used by speculators. The company also advises using special reservation and notification systems to streamline requests from potential buyers, and deliveries to resellers should be limited for the first three weeks. It is unknown at this time whether these measures will be effective, but we will be able to find out soon.
