Bloomberg: Google wants to add an online store feature to YouTube

Google integrates an online store option into the YouTube video service. According to the plan, purchases can be made simultaneously with watching videos, writes Bloomberg, UNN reports.

Yes, the company wants to allow users to view, select and buy products directly through video. A similar feature is already being tested on some Youtube channels. Content authors are currently encouraged to use special YouTube software to tag and track products from their videos.

It is noted that as of now, this function is experimental in nature, and its details are not disclosed.

According to the publication, if such tools are still integrated into the video service, YouTube could become a huge online directory that will be closer to sites such as Amazon and Alibaba.

Bloomberg writes that the pandemic made the site think about this format – purely advertising contracts were mostly terminated, and buying goods online, on the contrary, became more frequent.
