Choosing complementary foods for fish on the lake: what you need to know

To catch a large prey, it is not enough to buy an echo sounder, spinning and a solid coil. It is important to prepare a quality bait, otherwise the preparation may be wasted.

Organization and selection of appropriate equipment before fishing sometimes takes more time than fishing itself. But only in this case you can provide yourself with cool. To catch a large prey, it is not enough to buy an echo sounder, spinning and a solid coil. It is important to prepare a quality bait, otherwise the preparation may be wasted.

What to choose – feeder or ball?

A few years ago, fishermen used only balls as food, rolling various baits and throwing them into the water. Feeders are just a feeder, in which the bait is put.

To determine which option is suitable for you, you can only experiment. But when fishing on the lake, you should remember that most of the bait is located far from the shore. In this case, with the help of the feeder, you can create a feed path by simply pulling it gradually towards you and attracting the prey. Balls can be added later, to keep the prey interesting.

Some tips for fishing on the lake

When fishing on the lake, many face the problem of muddy bottom, in which all the bait settles, is lost and all the benefits are lost. Therefore, if you are faced with a muddy bottom, it is better to use more crumbly and lighter bait. The most important thing is not to work hard with light and small lumps, otherwise they can spread out and make it more difficult to bait and hold fish.

As bait for the lake, you can use it:

special food with colorants and flavorings;

porridge;

starter feed;

Protein grout made of poultry, worms, moths.

For the lake it is recommended to use most of the feed for the start – ⅔ from the whole prepared part. But it must be divided into several parts to cover a large area, attracting different individuals. If you manage to catch a large prey, continue to throw in small portions of bait to attract flocks of small fish.

The amount of bait depends on the length of fishing. If you plan to fish for no more than five hours, it is enough to use at least 1.5 kg of food, 25% of which – live food. For a longer fishing time the amount of food used should increase.

To get the most out of the spent effort and the fishing itself, carefully study the terrain and features of the lake bottom.
