Drinking regime in summer

“A proper drinking regime involves increasing the amount of fluid consumed per day by 500-600 ml in summer. On average, the total daily fluid volume should be 2-2.5 liters, including first courses, juices, fruits and dairy products, – says Elina Berezhnaya, therapist of the highest category, candidate of medical sciences, head of INTO-SANA polyclinic. – You can calculate individual daily intake norms, focusing on the fact that each kilogram of body weight should have at least 30 ml of liquid”.

And above all, to quench thirst in summer, you should use plain water. It serves as a vehicle for energy and nutrition of the cell, cleanses it from waste products, keeps the normal state of the mucous membranes. It is water that helps to cleanse the body from toxins, to flush out the by-products of biochemical reactions.

Specialist recommends giving preference to room temperature mineral water without gas. It covers the body’s need for fluids, restores the reserves of minerals and salts, which are washed out with sweat, and at the same time it does not strain the digestive system. Good in the summer time morsels, compotes, water with lemon juice, but carbonated beverages doctor advises not to drink.

“Carbonated water increases the amount of acid in the body, there is a so-called ‘acidification’ of the body,” explains Elina Berezhnaya. – Various parasites just prefer an acidic environment, because it is in it more often various processes of putrefaction occur”.

In addition, soda contains large amounts of phosphoric acid, which washes calcium from the bones and thus increases the risk of fractures. Carbon dioxide itself also has a devastating effect on the body. Gas bubbles burst in the stomach and intestines, which can traumatize the delicate walls of these organs. Therefore, carbonated beverages are not recommended for healthy people and are strictly prohibited in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
