From online to real: dating online
Do you think if this is the Internet, then you can do whatever you want?
The Internet has become an alternative reality. Almost everything the same happens there as in the ordinary world: we work, study, have fun, socialize, make friends and fall in love. In a word, we live part of life.
One hundred percent of everyone has at least one story about meeting the opposite sex on the Internet and the consequences. Sometimes something comes out of it, sometimes not. Everything here is exactly the same as in real life: in fact, you never know how the next meeting will end. In fact, what’s the difference where you crossed: in a bar or in Tinder? All the same, at first people go on a date, look closely at each other, and then they decide what to do next.
But online dating has its own characteristics.
1. Not always a person is really what he tries to seem.
If, for example, you met on a dating site and only communicate in the correspondence format, then, firstly, you cannot even be 100% sure that the person looks like in the photo. Secondly, in correspondence, people are more eloquent and wittier than with verbal communication.
2. You can not be limited to communication with only one person.
Of course, you can also go on ordinary dates today with one person, and tomorrow with another. But in the internet it is much easier to do.
On the one hand, this is a plus: it is possible to communicate with everyone who you like, develop your communication skills, save time, because you do not have to run on dates, you also do not spend money.
But on the other hand, it is quite possible that you are communicating with a person, you put your whole soul into messages and even seem to fall into it, and he (or she) simultaneously leads several more of the same correspondence. And it becomes insulting not virtually, but for real.
3. You can raise any topic.
Conversations through the messenger are franker and more open than usual. In live communication, sometimes it takes some time to ask a delicate question, but then I dialed and sent it to myself. Therefore, many admit that virtual communication seems more emotional to them.
4. Virtual communication is easier to interrupt.
In real life, you will also not surprise anyone with a story about how suddenly a new gentleman or a pretty girl disappeared with whom she seemed to communicate normally. But on the net, a person can disappear literally in the middle of a conversation: you are texting yourself, texting, and here – bang! – there is no response to the message and generally no gu-gu. It’s a shame, but it happens.
5. Online dating does not lead to pregnancy and STDs.
From this point of view, you can absolutely freely engage in virtual sex as much as you like.
There is also such a popular topic: to talk about maniacs who seem to be jam-packed with the Internet. Like, it’s easy to run into some kind of inadequacy on the net. To some extent, this is true, because you do not see who you are talking to. But on the other hand, it’s easier to get rid of it: you simply send the objectionable to the ban or do not reply to messages.
Well, of course, you don’t need to tell the first one where you live and where you save the money. And this applies not only to those you meet on the Internet.
