Google will teach Android to eavesdrop on sleeping users

Google wants to train a line of Pixel smartphones and Pixel Watch to monitor snoring and coughing while people sleep. Thus, the company will study the quality of users’ rest in more detail, writes 9to5google.

Experts discovered a code in Google Health Studies that uncovered interesting details. Google’s full-time employees with an Android phone can participate in the study. At the same time, it is impossible to sink to sleep in the presence of an employee of a rival firm.

Eavesdropping algorithm will look as follows: the application will record all the sounds during sleep via a microphone, the information obtained will be saved locally and will not be transferred anywhere for processing.

It is not reported when the function will be available to ordinary users.
