How and how long to cook pasta so it doesn’t stick together
This can be done not only on the stove, but also in the multicooker and microwave.
How long should the pasta cook for?
Pasta cooks for an average of 7-10 minutes. But it is better to be guided by the time indicated on the package. In any case, make sure that the products do not spill.
If you want to make the pasta al dente (slightly undercooked), subtract a couple of minutes from the figure. But only if it is not immediately written on the package that this is the time required for al dente.
How to cook pasta on the stove
Pour water into a spacious pot. It is recommended to take 1 liter of water per 100 g of pasta, but you can use less. The main thing is that the products float freely in the liquid.
Pour the salt. For such an amount of water, 1 teaspoon with a spoonful will be enough. It’s always better to rely on your own taste in this matter. If you want, you can add other spices as well.
Put the pot on a high heat and wait for the water to boil. Then add the pasta.
If you put the pasta in non-boiling water, it can stick to it.
Reduce the heat to medium to moderate. The water should be bubbling slightly. Stir the pasta at the beginning and stir occasionally during cooking.
Toss the finished pasta in a colander and let the water drain off.
Some people rinse cooked pasta to keep it from sticking. But you should not do that.
If you are afraid that the pasta will stick, pour some vegetable oil into a pot of boiling water.
Or put the already cooked pasta back into the pot, add vegetable oil or a piece of butter and stir it gently.
How to cook pasta in the multicooker
Pour the water into the bowl of the multicooker. Take 500 ml of water per 100 g of pasta. Taste and season with salt.
Set the “Pasta” mode and wait for the water to boil. The multicooker will beep. If there is no such mode in your technique, use the option “Soup”, “Porridge” or “Multicooker”.
Pour the pasta in the boiling water. You can add a little oil to them. Boil the pasta, stirring occasionally. If any liquid remains, strain it in a colander.
How to cook pasta in the microwave
Pour the pasta into a bowl suitable for microwave cooking. Pour hot water at a ratio of about 1 : 2. Let the liquid cover the pasta by about 1 cm. Season with salt. At this point you can add oil to prevent the pasta from sticking.
Put in a microwave oven. Cook on 800 watts. Every 2-3 minutes, stir the pasta.
Afterwards, leave them in for 4-5 minutes. If there is excess liquid, strain the pasta in a colander.
