How much coffee can you drink per day

Can’t imagine meeting up with friends without a cup of aromatic coffee? Is waking up without coffee also an impossible mission? Cinnamon, spiced, cappuccino or Flat White – mmm! Here’s how much coffee you can drink and what happens if you drink too much of this invigorating drink.

We usually consume caffeine in the form of coffee, tea, caffeinated fizzy drinks and energy drinks to improve cognitive function, get rid of bad moods and just wake up.

Many of us feel like we can’t get started until we have one or two cups of coffee. That amount is perfectly harmless, but what happens if you drink three, four or more cups?

What makes coffee

Caffeine is a strong stimulant that primarily affects our central nervous system. It activates brain activity, improves activity, attention and concentration.

How much coffee you can drink

Most experts who study caffeine agree that drinking up to 300 milligrams of caffeine per day is safe for an adult. This is about the amount of caffeine we would get from three cups of coffee. This dose will boost energy, help with fatigue, and give more stamina when exercising.

However, pregnant women may need to reduce the amount of caffeine or eliminate it completely. The least caffeine intake is recommended for children.

If there is too much coffee

Consuming more than 300 milligrams of caffeine each day can cause you to become “caffeine jittery,” which makes you nervous and slightly anxious. Large amounts of caffeine can make you irritable, cause insomnia, anxiety, and even lead to digestive problems.

Caffeine can act as a diuretic, so drinking coffee or caffeinated drinks in large quantities can cause dehydration. However, researchers have found that the body adjusts to caffeine, so drinking caffeinated foods will not increase the need for water.

Reduce the amount of coffee or eliminate it completely?

Cutting caffeine out suddenly and completely can provoke headaches and irritation. Do you feel strange muscle pain and even feel miserable for a few days? These symptoms will go away in a week or so, but you will alleviate this condition if you gradually replace caffeine-containing drinks with decaf drinks.

In general, do not worry, one or two cups of coffee a day will not do you any harm, but it will lift your mood.
