How to cook 5 meals from one piece of meat

We know how sometimes it is difficult to make something more complicated than eggs and sandwiches. Especially for those who want to save time, The Challenger has collected five recipes of snacks and main courses, which are prepared from a kilo of beef.

Have you ever tried to prepare several dishes from one product at once? It turns out it’s not that hard. It’s enough to buy a kilo of beef, divide it into five equal parts of 200 grams each – and use our recipes. How to choose the right meat – read in this material.

Tip: prepare the dishes for lunch and dinner in advance, for example on weekends. Freeze them in lunch boxes or zip packs and defrost them during the week as needed.

Hot beef and cheese sandwich

American hot snack with caramelized onions.

Ingredients

Bread 4 slices

Beef 200 г

Cheese 4 slices

Butter (creamy) 2 st. l.

Mayonnaise (home) 2 st. l.

Salt 1 tsp.

Pepper 1 pinch

Onions (powder) 1 tsp.

Garlic (powder) 1 tsp.

For caramelized onions

Onions 1 bulb

Butter (creamy) 1/2 p.l.

Olive oil 1/2 p.l.

Preparation process

Heat the butter and olive oil in a medium size non-stick pan.

Put the onion in the pan and fry until golden, stirring occasionally.

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter and mayonnaise until homogeneous.

In a middle bowl, mix the minced beef, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Form two cutlets from the meat mixture about the same shape as a piece of bread, but a little larger.

Fry the cutlets on both sides.

Lubricate the slices of bread with a mixture of butter and mayonnaise, put the cheese, then the cutlets, caramelized onions and cover the remaining slices.

Fry the resulting sandwiches on both sides until golden brown and serve hot.

Hot dog with meatballs

A useful version of your favorite sandwich is prepared with beef balls and a generous portion of marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Beef (minced meat) 200 г

Sausages 100 г

Petrushka ( leaves ) 20 г

Garlic 2 spikes

Sukhari (breading) 1/4 cup

Eggs 1 pcs.

Cheese (Parmesan) 1/2 cup

Salt 1 pinch

Pepper 1 pinch

Sauce (marinara) 1.5 glasses

Bun (for hot dog) 3 pcs.

Olive oil 2 st. l.

Garlic (powder) 1 tsp.

Cheese (mozzarella) 100 г

Preparation process

In a large bowl combine beef, chopped sausages, parsley, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.

Use your hands to mix the ingredients and form balls.

Heat marinara sauce in a large saucepan, place the balls there and cook for about 20 minutes on medium heat.

Lubricate the buns inside with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder.

Make the mold with baking paper, put the buns into the mold, place a few balls in each one and cover it with mozzarella slices on top.

Put the mold on the baking tray and send it to the oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts.

Rice with beef and green peas

Simple and healthy dish – a portion of less than 300 calories!

Ingredients

Beef (minced meat) 200 г

Sauce 30 ml

Water 50 ml

Peas (green) 1/2 cup

Sugar 1 tsp.

Ginger (grated) 1/2 p.l.

Rice (ready) 2 servings

Preparation process

In a large frying pan, mix the minced beef, soy sauce, water and sugar and cook on medium heat until the beef brown.

Add fresh ginger and frozen peas. Continue cooking until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Serve with boiled rice.

Beef with mushrooms in wine sauce

A hearty stew for lunch or dinner in late autumn.

Ingredients

Beef (slices of 2-3 cm) 200 г

Olive oil 3 st. l.

Salt 1 pinch

Pepper 1 pinch

Onions 1/3 pcs.

Carrot 1 pcs.

Laurel leaf 1 pcs.

Garlic 1 clove

Tomato paste 1 st. l.

Flour 1 st. l.

Mushrooms 70 г

Wine (red) 1 glass

Timian 1 twig

Preparation process

Salt, pepper and fry the meat in oil until golden crust for 2 minutes.

Remove the meat from the fire. Add onions, carrots and bay leaf to the frying pan. Fry for about 5 minutes until the carrots and onions are soft.

Add garlic, tomato paste, flour, wine and mushrooms. Place the meat and thyme on top.

Heat the oven to 180 degrees.

Cover the frying pan with the lid, put it in the oven and reduce the fire.

Cook for about two hours. Serve the dish hot with your favorite vegetables.

Mashed potatoes with roasted beef and vegetables

Only mashed potatoes with spicy slices of meat can be better.

Ingredients

Beef 200 г

Olive oil 2 st. l.

Garlic 2 spikes

Onions (sliced) 1 pcs.

Celery (sliced) 1 stick

Carrot (grated) 1/3 cup

Timian 1 twig

Laurel leaf 1 pcs.

Salt 1 pinch

Pepper 1 pinch

Wine (red) 3/4 glasses

Potatoes (mashed potatoes) 2 servings

Preparation process

Salt, pepper and fry the meat in oil until golden crust for 2 minutes. Put it aside.

Fry onions, carrots and celery in a frying pan until soft. Add the garlic and stir until flavor appears.

Place the meat in an empty frying pan, pour wine and add tomato paste, bay leaf and thyme.

Heat the oven to 180 degrees.

Bring the wine to the boil, then cover with the lid and send to the oven. Cook the meat for 2 hours, it should become tender.

Put the meat in the dish and add the vegetables. Stir.

Serve with hot mashed potatoes.
