In China, text written by artificial intelligence was first copyrighted
For the first time in the world, a court in China has protected artificial intelligence text by copyright.
About it reports hromadske.ua with reference to the Chinese State News Service of China News Service.
It’s about artificial intelligence called Tencent’s Dreamwriter. The algorithm has been writing articles on business and finance for several years. In 2019, one of his texts was copied by Yingxun Technology Company. In the publication, they stated that the text was written automatically and had no author.
In doing so, the court held that the wording and theses in the article were original, so the material could be considered a work covered by copyright.
Yingxun Technology Company has already deleted an article from its site. Now they have to pay the artificial intelligence owner a $ 217 fine.
