Amazon introduced the Amazon Halo cloud service and the Amazon Halo Band fitness bracelet, which are designed to monitor the health of the user.

Amazon Halo Band and the Amazon Halo service work in tandem. Halo Band is different from modern bracelets, because it has no screen and all information is displayed in the application on your smartphone. It has an accelerometer, temperature sensor, heart rate scanner and a pair of microphones that can be turned off.

“Health is much more than just the number of steps you do in a day or how many hours you sleep. Amazon Halo combines the latest medical advances, highly accurate data collected with Halo Band sensors, and state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to offer a more comprehensive approach to improving your health and well-being,” says Maulik Majmudar, chief medical officer of Amazon Halo.

The system takes into account the nature and intensity of your movements as well as your skin’s movements, heart rate and temperature during sleep, after which everything is converted into points based on American Heart Association recommendations.

You can also assess your body condition: the photos will be analyzed with computer vision and machine learning. The result is a 3D model of the body with the percentage of fat and the body mass index.

In addition, the AI will be able to assess your voice in terms of energy and positivity. In this way, you can understand how your voice sounds to others and when you are rude without noticing it.

Amazon Halo also offers training and guidance. All data are confidential and will be deleted from the company’s servers after analysis and results.

The bracelet is waterproof and can withstand dives to a depth of 50 meters. One charge is enough for 7 days of work with voice recognition turned off or for 2 days with voice recognition turned on. It will take about 90 minutes to fully charge.

At first, Amazon Halo will cost $65, after a while the price will rise to $100. This price includes a six-month subscription to Amazon Halo, after which the membership will be automatically renewed for $4 per month. Without subscription, access to features will be limited.

The bracelet will be offered in three sizes and three colors of the capsule (Onyx, Silver, Rose Gold). So far, there are three colors of the straps, but then will add new colors. You can buy fabric straps for $19.99, silicone straps for $15.99.
