Internet interruptions in Minsk, operators talk about government orders

Users do not have messengers and social networks.

Interruptions with the Internet have begun in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. One of the mobile operators reported that the speed of mobile Internet had been reduced at the request of government agencies in order to ensure national security.

It is noted that in the evening the messengers, social networks and some websites stopped working.

“We regret to inform you that at the request of government agencies in connection with national security, the bandwidth of 3G network A1 has been significantly reduced in some areas of Minsk. The implementation of this requirement leads to the deterioration of data transmission service quality,” reads the report.
