LG has released the world’s first TV-roll

Today, October 20, 2020, LG Electronics has opened a new chapter in the evolution of smart TVs: the world’s first twisting TV has entered the commercial market – a device called Signature OLED R. The TV is based on a matrix of organic LEDs. Due to its flexibility, the display can be rolled up and completely hidden inside the base, made in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped.

The screen is 65 inches diagonally. The resolution is 3840 × 2160 pixels, which corresponds to the 4K format. The innovative device has a high refresh rate – 120 Hz.

There are three modes of using Signature OLED R – Full View, Line View and Zero View. In the first case, users receive a full-fledged TV for watching videos. In the Line View state, the screen extends to a small height, showing useful information. Finally, in Zero View mode, the novelty can be used as a sound panel with a capacity of 100 watts.

The TV allows you to communicate with an intelligent voice assistant. There are Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless controllers. As for the price, the Signature OLED R is very expensive – 87,000 US dollars.
