In Japan a new model of super high-speed train N700s was put into operation. This is the first update of the model in 13 years, reports Japan Times.
The main innovations are: wide armchairs, which can be folded into a comfortable bed. Each passenger seat is equipped with outlets for recharging gadgets. The car now has 6 security cameras, instead of two.
The train is equipped with lithium-ion batteries in case of an unforeseen power failure along the route, for example, due to natural disasters. The battery has enough power to get the train to the nearest safe place.
The train will run along the Tokyo Osaka route. The train will cover a distance of 515 km between cities in 2 hours.
By 2022, 40 new N700s models will be put into operation.
