Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards will receive new Infinity Cache technology

This year, the leaks for GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards came quite late, especially when it comes to technical details and performance. The new generation of AMD Radeon graphics cards is about the same: the announcement will take place later this month, but so far we have mostly only rumors and a few photos. And here are some interesting details today. According to the information received, Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards will receive new Infinity Cache technology. Now in more detail.

It will be recalled that according to numerous rumors, the top-of-the-line Radeon video card will receive 16 GB of memory, but it will be GDDR6 memory, which is not the fastest to date. In addition, the adapter is attributed to a 256-bit bus. As a result, the memory bandwidth of such a video card will be much lower than that of the RTX 3080. However, we may simply not know everything.

The source reports that the new Radeon graphics cards may receive some new cache. At first, it was supposed to be called something else, but the other day AMD registered the trademark Infinity Cache, so maybe that’s what the “new cache” will be called in serial products.

Judging by the name, we can assume that this development is related to the Infinity Fabric bus that AMD uses in its processors. It is still difficult to even guess what cache is in question and how it will be implemented, but it is probably directly related to the memory of the video card.
