This year, Sony introduced two smartphones with the index “II” (read “Mark 2”), namely: Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II, as well as budget smartphones Xperia L4 and Xperia 8 Lite. All these smartphones have taken their places in the Sony lineup, replacing the older models, but the update of last year’s flagship compact Xperia 5, the company has not yet released. The first information and the first official image of the new flagship, which is expected to be called Xperia 5 II, have now appeared online.
As expected, the smartphone will look like a miniature flagship Xperia 1 II, although in some respects it is still different. The company decided not to equip the younger model with a ToF sensor, but the other parameters should be similar to the Xperia 1 II. Interestingly, Sony has left in the compact version of the button to release the camera shutter, which was previously in many models of the company. Interestingly, the younger model, unlike the older, will receive a 3.5-millimeter jack. It is unknown what will be the display diagonal of the new smartphone.
Recall that in the previous generation, Sony Xperia 5, there was a display with an aspect ratio of 21: 9, and the diagonal is expected to be approximately 6.1 inches. Interestingly, the smartphone may become the most compact smartphone that will support the fifth generation of networks. Sony will hold a presentation of the new compact smartphone on September 17, and it is possible that it will also show the flagship smartphone with the index “Premium”.
