This year, all major cities in China are already covered by the fifth generation mobile network. In 2020 alone, China has built about 580,000 5G base stations. The development of new infrastructure is in full swing in the country. Sales of 5G-enabled smartphones have already reached 144 million units.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, citing the Ministry of Industry and Informatization of the People’s Republic of China, all Chinese cities in the district are currently covered by the fifth generation mobile network. In the first 11 months of this year, 199 new models of smartphones that work with this standard appeared on the market. The Chinese government continues to build new 5G networks and data centers at a rapid pace. In particular, this applies to the manufacturing industry, energy and transport. In 2021, the Chinese plan to build another 600,000 5G base stations.
