The Sony Ericsson VAIO smartphone is a legend we have lost forever

Sony Ericsson, which later became Sony Mobile Communications, was one of the founders of the mobile phone industry and later the smartphone industry. However, over time, her fame faded. Now there is a selection of photos of an interesting Sony Ericsson VAIO model on the Internet, which has never reached the shelves.

They were published by the XDA Developers thematic resource. It is noted that this is a prototype of a Sony Ericsson smartphone under the VAIO brand, and did not fall into the hands of end users. It became the predecessor of the first VAIO smartphone based on the Android operating system, which nevertheless came on the market after the VAIO division separated from Sony into a separate campaign.

The smartphone is made in the now rare form factor of the side slider with a hardware QWERTY keyboard with the ability to set the screen at an angle to the keyboard. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch screen with massive by today’s standards frames and hardware navigation buttons. It has an “ancient” version of Android 2.1 Eclair. The VAIO brand is clearly spelled out on the back of the device. Also on the back is a single camera with flash.
