Ways to deal with laziness. An easy way to combat laziness. Proven Method
It would seem that there are important things to do, and the time for their implementation is quite suitable, and the deadline is running up, but there is still no way to get together with the forces and start working, the question arises – 10 tips from a psychologist will probably tell you the right answer.
In fact, very often it is laziness, and a desire to put things off until tomorrow, hinder the development of business, career growth, and in many other areas of life have a negative impact. Struggling with laziness is already a big step, which indicates that a person has realized and understood his problem, and wants to eradicate it. In order to achieve, to improve, a person needs to act decisively and persistently, and this can in no way go along with apathy and laziness.
Before we give advice about how to deal with apathy, or what you need to banish laziness from your life, let’s try to understand the concept itself, as well as the causes of their appearance in our lives. If at a subconscious level man is trying to push back the moment when we need to get down to business, it may be based on a variety of facts. For example, fear of causing a negative reaction or negative consequences of this or that action, or simply the lack of incentive and desire to begin any work.
And yet, let’s consider each concept separately, because laziness and apathy have a number of differences, which should be known in order to determine how to combat laziness and apathy in everyday life.
How do I fight apathy?
The reason for so many failures is precisely the lack of desire in a person to begin to change his life, past, present or future. On the one hand, apathy is a lack of desire to do anything because of a recent failure, disappointment, failure, problems in personal or professional life, or health problems. A person begins to feel sorry for himself, and this condition actually drags him down, forming apathetic moods and a pessimistic view of life in general. If we talk about laziness, then the causes of its manifestations are:
Lack of prospects and motivating factors. In fact, there are always prospects for everyone, regardless of age, profession, gender or place of residence, it is just much easier to do nothing, referring to the fact that nothing will happen anyway, than to fight and go to your success;
Concerns. Some people have too poorly developed willpower, which makes them procrastinate with new beginnings, a change of life circumstances. This is justified by the fact that a person is subconsciously afraid, and if there is a negative experience of past years, it is even more difficult to cope with laziness and apathy.
Irresponsibility. To overcome apathy caused by irresponsibility, a person needs to be left alone with the world. The reason is that on this ground laziness develops in those who are not used to taking responsibility for themselves: children, who are guided and provided for all their lives by their parents, women who are used to living at the expense of their husbands, and so on.
Psychological problem. Sometimes it is necessary to fight with apathy already specialists, so neglected can be the condition. The main symptom is that a man begins to enjoy the absence of any business, for him inactivity becomes a real source of happiness.
Male laziness. It is characteristic of males whose parents are used to spoiling their favorite sons.
Too much fatigue. Modern life often forces us to overdo the work, staying in the office until midnight, waking up before dawn and forgetting to have lunch. The body wears itself out, and laziness defends itself against fatigue. In this case it is necessary to give it a little break.
In order to understand how to fight laziness and apathy , it is necessary to understand on what basis the problems began to develop. Only after that can a person eradicate the very essence of laziness, and once again begin to live an active and full life.
How do I fight laziness?
Struggling with laziness is a serious task, which must be approached with the utmost seriousness. It is because of it a person puts down his hands, stops going towards his goals, does not move forward, does not assess the circumstances around him, and gradually begins to degrade, lagging behind life and progress in general. Every individual, by its very nature, has ambitions that shape his aspirations, desires and dreams, while laziness, on the contrary, buys them, turning a person into a being without goals and desires.
Laziness is a way of saving energy resources by limiting active actions, and in order to overcome laziness, one must have strong willpower, be persistent and persevere. Laziness differs from apathy in that it can be based on anything, down to human instincts or childhood habits. For its manifestation does not need failure or frustration, a person just starts to be lazy, for no particular reason. It is inherent in man, in his natural beginning, but thanks to an active lifestyle, ambition, the desire to have time to do everything, to be ahead of the majority, it remains in the bud.
Fighting laziness is not an easy task, but it should be remembered that every person is able to win it. The proof is the absence of laziness in moments when the body needs something urgently. For example, feeling thirsty, you are willing to walk quite a lot in order to find water, but going for a run in the morning is sometimes so hard. Of course, exhausting the body all the time is not the answer either. The body needs rest, it needs pauses for recovery, but only in conjunction with work, activity and busyness. Some people, in order to cope with laziness and apathy, just need to rest for one day from the bustle and work problems.
Because of laziness, people waste a huge part of their lives on simple inactivity, even though they could spend it on self-improvement, education, earning money, or athletic training. There is too much to do around here to choose laziness over learning about the world.
How to fight laziness and apathy – psychologists say
Very often, in order to change your life, achieve success, start your own business or lose weight, it is necessary, first of all, to overcome apathy and day. On the one hand, many people are sure that there is no problem, but this is far from it. Giving up the habit of doing nothing, and making to start working double shifts or doing all the things in a day is really hard. After all, laziness drags on. Getting lazy gets better every day, and working harder every day, and there unnoticed is the loss of ambition and goals, and of the essentials all that remains is inaction.
- Hard work implies good rest
It is not for nothing that the question of planning one’s own time is so often raised by specialists of psychological sciences – fatigue does not beautify us, and sometimes, in order to overcome apathy, it is enough to have a good sleep and devote a day to rest. Hard work involves days off, in which the subconscious, nervous system and the body as a whole will be able to relax, restore strength, prepare for a new day of hard work. Not for nothing there has long been such a concept as vacation. Our people are often proud of the fact that they refused to vacation for a long time, but in fact they do harm their health and psyche. Vacations don’t have to be at elite resorts – grandma’s dacha, boarding house or city park are also great places for the body to recuperate after hard work.
- Sleep Mode
In order to overcome apathy, psychologists advise to wake up correctly. The essence of the advice is to forget about lying in bed for an hour after awakening. Wake up – immediately get up and proceed to the morning procedures. In addition, the fight against laziness involves going to bed early, of course, it is not about falling asleep at sunset, but it’s not worth it to stay up until midnight. Discipline is the first enemy of laziness, so the presence of a strict regime will certainly banish the desire to be lazy. Do not forget about the morning exercise, at least fifteen minutes for sports exercises can brace up for the whole day, as well as a good breakfast or a contrast shower.
- A healthy body has a healthy mind
Often in order to overcome apathy, it is necessary to pay attention to one’s health and well-being. If in addition to constant laziness over a period of time you feel a general deterioration of condition, such as headaches, nausea, weakness, then this is a reason to seek medical advice. Vitality is directly related to the physiological processes in the body, and diseases become a reason for an apathetic state.
- Plan as a way to structure your time
It is not for nothing that specialists never tire of reminding you to plan your time, down to the last detail. Surely many have noticed that in the presence of a clear plan, and the work is faster, and the results of labor pleasantly surprise. Moreover, the plan should take into account not only working hours, but also recreation, household chores and other nuances, even meals and visits to various events. This will allow you to cope with laziness and apathy, because a plan is a plan, and no one wants to violate it. In order to make even routine things become interesting, you should reward yourself for their implementation. Let’s say you need to do a weekend general cleaning? Then at the end of it, promise yourself to go to the movies to your favorite movie or to take a walk with friends.
- Prioritize
Often we put things off, citing the fact that they are not urgent or important for the current moment. To avoid such manifestations, and to fight apathy, it is necessary to realize the consequences of such a shift. For example, postponing today’s report to tomorrow, you will have to postpone a workout or a trip to the pool, and this will entail further disruptions in the schedule of affairs. It is not for nothing that we feel a surge of strength and relief when we have time to complete all the tasks on time.
- The Power of Motivation and Incentives
Another tip on how to combat laziness and apathy is proper motivation. Of course, you can postpone things, try to avoid certain responsibilities, but this will entail certain difficulties. Much easier to gather the will in the fist, and do all that is necessary, on time. That should be explained to children from an early age, and the same way managers motivate their employees professionals. The system of incentives works perfectly here, for example, all those who pass the reporting for their department on Friday, get an opportunity to leave work an hour earlier. A small thing, but nevertheless, it is a great way to motivate employees. A parent, a manager and any person who wants to gain authority among his subordinates or close people, should become an example himself. It is much easier to overcome laziness, seeing in front of you a person who clearly performs all tasks, carefully plans his time, pays attention to himself and his health.
- Concentration
Fighting laziness begins with attention training. Often starting to do work, for example, around the house, we get distracted by an interesting program on TV, a phone call or a snack and never finish it, and then it’s much harder to get back to it. So try to focus all of your attention on finishing what you’ve started, and only then go on to the next task or rest. Starting several cases at once, you only think that this will help you cope with them faster, in fact, often switching from one task to another, a person acts slower and of lower quality.
- Change is necessary
Sometimes a shake-up is just necessary for our mind to cope with laziness and apathy, so many psychologists talk about the benefits of change. Thanks to new emotions, impressions and opportunities appear desire to achieve goals, to develop, to start something from scratch. We are talking about a change of work, appearance, new acquaintances or travel – all this will have a positive effect on the performance of the individual.
- A wedge with a wedge
If laziness simply wins, and do absolutely nothing, then try to listen to your body – let him be lazy. But that doesn’t mean watching TV, listening to music or talking on the phone – just stop where you are and try to free your mind of all thoughts. Very often this helps to overcome apathy, and the person becomes elementary bored.
- Change of attitude
It is not for nothing that auto-training has recently been in such demand among psychologists and their patients. We are able to convince ourselves of many things if we approach this task correctly. There must be several internal attitudes that one will regularly repeat to oneself, for example:
I am gaining energy, and I am distributing it correctly;
I have a number of goals, and I will definitely achieve them;
Apathy is not capable of leading me astray, it is under my complete control;
I do not want to be idle, and waste my life on it;
Rest for me is a way of recharging, necessary to achieve the goal.
In this way, a person gradually eradicates the cause of laziness, because he himself instills in himself that he has no time to be lazy, and rest is necessary to achieve his goals.
Motivation to get rid of laziness forever
Surely many people have a question, if I follow all these tips, then very soon I will achieve everything I’ve always wanted? It is too early to talk about such global results, because here you need to adjust all together, but getting rid of apathy and laziness will help you in many ways, namely:
Getting up earlier, you can already do some important things in the morning, which will allow you to rest closer to the evening, instead of dealing with work or household chores until midnight;
A punctual and hard-working person is always valued by management and commands respect from colleagues;
A proper daily routine and a clear plan will allow time for rest and favorite things;
A person who has accomplished all the goals set for the day feels satisfied morally, and his mind relaxes;
An improved material condition has a beneficial effect on a person’s overall psyche;
A lazy, hard-working individual always becomes a role model;
By replacing your morning nap with grooming and exercise, you can improve your appearance and overall physical condition;
It is much more interesting to live without laziness.
You can get rid of most psychological problems by force of will and self-confidence, if they have not yet become serious. Noticing the manifestations of laziness, you should analyze their cause, and begin to actively fight it, then after a while activity and ability to work will return.
Laziness is the most harmful state of mind. On the one hand, people enjoy lying on the couch, watching TV – rest of body and spirit. But on the other hand, laziness is extremely harmful. Everyone finds some excuse, in order to be in this blissful state longer. But business is not going anywhere. The more lazy you are, the more unresolved problems and unrealized ideas accumulate.
To defeat laziness, first of all, it is necessary to understand its root causes. Dealing with them often you can get rid of the laziness. For example, laziness can occur because of fear. People are afraid to take up, say, for any long and tedious case, which will have to spend the whole day. So, the first way to combat laziness is to understand the causes that caused it. In many cases, this method can eliminate laziness itself.
The second way to combat laziness is to plan your time. Yes, it is planning. It is necessary to think well of those cases for which you can not do and break them into many small ones. These same small things can be done gradually. At the end you will find that, without spending a lot of effort, you have done the job that you planned initially. But this method is good only if your case should be performed in several stages, but there are things that need to be done immediately, without interruption.
The third way to combat laziness is to create the right motivation. Think about the pleasant things that can wait for you after doing your work. Think about the break you can afford after work. The expectation of a good thing is not a bad incentive to activity. As you do your work, think about what will give you the most pleasure after you finish it.
The fourth way of combating laziness is directly related to the third. To be more precise, it is the exact opposite of the third. You need to think about the trouble that will arise if you procrastinate too much. Think about how much more work you will have to do if you keep putting it off. Sometimes the fear of trouble and even greater difficulties is much more stimulating than the anticipation of some small joys.
Fifth way to fight it. Do things in the morning and don’t allow yourself to put them off. This is a very workable way, because when you start to do something, then you yourself won’t want to stop. It’s easier to finish the job once, than after some time to take it again. After all, the next time it’s better to have a rest than to go back to the work you don’t like.
The sixth way. It is necessary to make your life brighter, turn your work into a fun game. Use your imagination and do not hesitate to dilute the boring routine with unexpected solutions and deeds. This will definitely make the performance of your duties more fun and interesting. And doing interesting things is much more pleasant than boring and monotonous. This will allow you to get interested in the work you’re doing, and only then will it be easy, fast and enjoyable.
The seventh way to combat laziness. Try not to do anything. Just sit on the couch, turn off music and television. Do not think about anything, and in no case do nothing. The effect is immediate, unless of course you fall asleep, but it’s unlikely to happen, because doing absolutely nothing is complete boredom. The effect of this method will manifest itself in a few minutes. You will be ready to do anything to stop being bored. And this is where you have to take the bull by the horns and take on the hardest work.
I want to tell you about my way of fighting laziness. To apply it, you do not need willpower, no special set of minds, possession of enthusiasm, lack of depression, an awl in the ass, NLP courses and Shaolin monastery. All that is required is an action of which even the laziest person in the world is capable.
Before I get down to business, I will dispel two myths associated with the concept of laziness. Two myths that keep millions of people from being lazy.
The first myth is that laziness is seen as something independent of the individual, an inherent and intractable character trait. This is complete nonsense. Laziness – it’s just certain patterns of behavior, habits. And habits can be changed.
– What is the wisdom of laziness? Is non-writing as fruitful for you as writing?
– In its timeliness (regarding laziness). As for the fruitfulness of literary inactivity, etc. – variously, yes or no. In any case, it is inevitable that those texts appear at a certain point when they are least needed, and there is no turning away from them.
The second myth is the phrase “Laziness is when I do nothing.” This, too, is complete nonsense. Because when a person says “I’m lazy,” they’re not doing nothing, but:
2) watches TV;
3) listens to music;
4) watches movies;
5) wanders the Internet;
6) plays a computer game;
7) reads books;
8) lies on the sofa;
9) talks, walks or drinks with friends and neighbors;
All of these are actions. Another thing is that when these activities begin to take up to six hours a day, they begin to interfere with life.
Therefore, a more correct definition would be the following: “Laziness is useless action.”
And now the method itself. It consists of a single phrase: “To stop being lazy, you must do nothing.
I’m not kidding. I’ve been using this method for two years now. I started using it right during a severe depression.
So how does this method work? Let’s say you need to take some action. You decide (or better yet, write it down on paper) what time you will start and how long you will do it. Let’s say you start doing it at 11:00 and do it for the next two hours (until 1:00 p.m.).
At 11:00 a.m. you begin to fight laziness, namely, to do nothing. That is, you stop all the things on the list above. You stop doing anything at all. Just sit or stand in the room. Don’t lie down, it will put your body into a state of sleep.
A dense blue haze hangs over the port, the city sinks into a languid laziness, multicolored laundry is not flapping in the wind between the houses, young communists near the university, offering passersby newspapers, forget what they mean, cab drivers do not swear, scooters do not cut off buses, children sit still in strollers, men are not looking into the neckline of dresses, doves around Christopher Columbus, and those have stopped flying and running: walking staggeredly or sitting with dignity on the steps beside the angels and gazing importantly at the sweltering passersby.
Soon (for me, in the next few minutes) you’ll feel like you can get to work. It will become clear in your head what needs to be done right now. And you will begin to do it.
I’m guarding against a possible mistake right away – in order to get to work, it’s enough to know the nearest action. You don’t have to imagine the entire scope of the work. If the first step is to press the “Start” button, press the “Start” button, even if you do not know what the next action will be (or do not want to do it). After you press it, you’ll soon both remember and want to.
If during work you again feel an attack of laziness – again stop doing anything. And soon you’ll be back in a workable state again.
That’s all. You can use this method at any time for any kind of business. I repeat, you don’t have to do anything else. You don’t have to convince yourself that you have to work. You don’t have to “work on yourself. You don’t have to, in fact, you can’t pressure your thoughts. Thoughts must be allowed to flow freely and in any direction. If the work is interrupted by a “stream of consciousness,” that’s okay. I specifically measured – the longest of such “streams of thoughts” lasts seven minutes. And it stops, often presenting you with a useful idea.
How do you motivate yourself? – You can’t, stay in the ass. – Artemy Lebedev
How to fight laziness
Procrastination is one of the causes of laziness. It is the habit of putting things off. Or to take up first the minor things, and on the main things a person simply does not have the strength. A person may not have the willpower to stop putting things off until the deadline (deadline) and then it starts – sleepless nights in preparation of a diploma or delivery of the annual report. Of course, with this approach to business, both the quality of work and the health of the person suffers. Many experts on self-development suggest that it is possible to combat this. Sometimes it’s enough just to start doing some work. And then you get so caught up in your work and get into a state of flow. You end up doing more than you expect yourself to do. If it becomes a habit – you stand a good chance of stopping being lazy.
Doing things not to your liking . Of course, when you go to school where your parents put you, and you don’t like your major, you will be lazy to study. In the same way you will be lazy to do the job you don’t like and go there. You should be careful in choosing a profession and a job. And you should also not take a job that is not peculiar to you.
Struggle with laziness. The causes of laziness
– How to motivate yourself? – Nothing, stay in the (bleep). – Artemy Lebedev
I think there is no need to explain why laziness is bad. When we are lazy, life passes us by and we don’t achieve what we would like in our dreams. Religion considers laziness a grave sin, which is compared to lust, pride, and gluttony. All of these sins are grievous because they corrupt our souls. Laziness makes a person weaker in every way. A person who has fallen under the power of laziness can slip morally: it will be easier for him to steal something than to earn it by honest work. Eventually, a person may deteriorate as a person or become a mere hobo. Both are not good.
About the harm of laziness, its causes and methods of combating it
The hardened lazy think that to fight laziness is too much. They’re too lazy to get up off the couch and start making their dreams come true. To start fighting laziness, you have to realize
How to fight laziness
To begin to fight laziness, you must first recognize the problem. After all, laziness can eventually become a bad habit and begin to have a devastating effect on your life. Sometimes laziness can ruin your destiny, or at least become the cause of serious failures if you don’t take action in time.
In our Slavic culture it is believed that laziness is the spirit that corrupts a person and prevents him from living a human life. At the same time, laziness is considered the first step into the abyss. The second step (or second spirit) is Fatherhood. Conventionally speaking, this means a neglected case of laziness, when a person becomes excessively fat to the point that the thickness of his waistline prevents him from moving. And in the case of emergencies, the person is inactive and does not contribute to getting out of the situation, even if he himself becomes a victim or any of his relatives. In the end it ends very badly – premature death due to obesity and gluttony.
Laziness drives people to the point where he stops cleaning his own house, doesn’t take out the garbage, and so on. As the saying goes, until the thunder rises, the man will not make the cross. So it is with laziness – if the situation is started, then laziness will become a habit, and then it will be very difficult to do anything about it. It is said not in vain that habit is a second nature.
Each particular case of laziness is individual. And you can get rid of laziness in different ways. It is noteworthy that not always laziness is an unambiguous evil. Sometimes laziness is a protective reaction of the body to excessive stress.
Causes of laziness and methods of combating it
As Gleb Arkhangelsky writes, laziness can often be a sign of severe fatigue. There the body is trying to protect itself from overloading. In this case, you need to take a break: take a vacation or at least a few days off.
Lack of health and lack of sufficient energy to perform certain actions. Do not confuse this case with banal fatigue. The reasons may be strictly individual. For example, if you are too fond of dieting, the brain may banal lack of energy to perform high-intensity intellectual work. The lack of blood sugar may feel like laziness – you may constantly want to sleep and not want to do anything. But in fact it may be a consequence of an unbalanced diet. In the same way, when we abuse sugar, we may feel a short-term burst of energy, but in the long run, sugar acts as a usurer – a person quickly gets tired and fatigued. He gets lazy to do anything. Any health problem can significantly reduce productivity. Therefore, in case of health problems one should contact a specialist (doctor). When your health is in order you will have the energy to do the tasks you have set for yourself.
Lack of motivation. Simply put, you simply do not want to do what you have to do. It is possible that this or that goal was imposed on you from the outside. To combat the lack of motivation may be possible with the help of self-motivation techniques. Sometimes it is necessary to tune in to work and do even something that you do not really want to do. However, in some cases, laziness can serve as a signal flag. It is possible that you do not take up this or that case simply because it really does not matter, and you feel it at a subconscious level. In general, a person is motivated by a big fat goal or dream. I advise to read about how visualization works.

Tips for combating laziness
Encourage yourself in the process of work. Many time management experts write about this. For example, after writing a paragraph in your dissertation, you can allow yourself to eat a bar of chocolate, have some coffee.
Tune in to work. Your state of mind should be positive. I have long noticed that it is enough to go to a good movie to raise your spirits, and then the work gets done much faster. Personally, I also benefit from good music.
If you yourself can not cope with laziness, you can pay another person to control you. This is how buying personal training sessions works. It has been noticed: with a personal trainer you tend to do more than when you work out alone in the gym. To put it simply, the trainer is not only in charge of making programs, but also of “ass-kicking”.
Study biographies of famous people, read books about success. At the very least, watch videos of good business coaches and motivation experts. Stories of success and failure of successful people often lead to interesting thoughts.
How to overcome laziness
To overcome laziness, you need to understand the causes of its occurrence.
We can be lazy for a variety of reasons, not always obvious. Try to objectively assess their condition: whether your laziness is not caused by hard exhausting work, depression or malnutrition? In the first and third cases, it will be enough to restore strength and increase the intake of vitamins, while with depression a professional will help to cope with it.
If none of these causes are identified (honestly, without self-pity and looking for excuses), then we should look in the other direction, namely in the area of emotional resistance. It is the term “resistance” that psychologists substitute for “laziness. This is the most correct definition, because this is the reaction of the lazy person when it is necessary to do the work. Internal resistance is very disingenuous, able to find a person a lot of convincing reasons for refusing to act, putting to sleep the sense of duty and responsibility. To prevent this condition from becoming your normal and habitual condition, understand the reasons for each particular instance of resistance.
Causes of laziness
They can be:
Fear of failure;
Improper motivation (or lack thereof);
A habit of doing everything at the last moment;
Fear of the importance of the task or its volume;
lack of interest, routine;
fear of not getting an “excellent” grade;
fear of criticism;
lack of confidence in oneself and one’s own abilities;
lack of confidence in their competence.
Most reasons for resistance or laziness are the result of internal conflicts and stereotypes of behavior developed over the years. Universal recipes for getting rid of laziness does not exist, but you can take on their arm nine rules that are sure to help you organize yourself. Applying them in practice, it is worth observing your own reactions, which will tell you the right direction to work on yourself.
9 ways to combat laziness.
- The right motivation
This topic is inexhaustible, but at first you must grasp the essence – understand what you want to get out of doing a certain work. You must want to do it, and this is only possible if you know the benefits that follow. Motivation can be internal and external, material and emotional. The main thing is that it must be positive (for something, not in spite of it) and concrete. Abstract motivation (for the sake of world peace, for a better life, etc.) very rarely works. It is better to start with short-term motivations, the results of which you can quickly feel. Over time, positive motivation will become the norm for you, and you will be able to more globally assess the potential benefits to yourself of being active in any field.
- Positive mindset
You should try to do any work with a good mood. If the mood does not arise by itself, instill it artificially, through force: look for the pluses, recall motivation, diversify routine work with music or short breaks for gymnastics (depending on the situation and personal preferences). A positive attitude not only contributes to the quick accomplishment of tasks, but also saves your strength.
- Planning
Remember the golden rule of the four Ps: Planning Prevents Bad Practice. Having a clear plan of action, you can properly distribute your energy and time without wasting them. When planning, consider your own reserve of energy, the availability of time, and the priority of tasks to be performed (important and urgent). Do not forget to allocate time for breaks in your work. Try not to plan too much work, it is better to plan less, but do it, than vice versa. At first, long-term planning may seem too difficult, so start with organizing only one day, gradually moving on to planning a week, and then a month. At the end of the day, be sure to analyze your plans and make follow-up plans based on what you’ve learned. You will soon notice how quickly and efficiently you can work and learn to “intuitive” planning in your mind.
- Set realistic goals
High self-esteem is fine as long as it doesn’t degenerate into self-confidence in the most unpleasant sense of the word. Believe in yourself, but set realistic goals, the ones you can really cope with. Incorrect goal setting will doom you to frequent failures, which may discourage even a workaholic.
- Step by Step
Starting a job, especially a large-scale, serious and unaccustomedly responsible one, is always difficult. This excitement is inherent to both beginners and professionals who value their reputation. For a painless start and the successful advancement of the case, there is a simple technique that is indispensable in this situation. Break down the entire project into tasks, and their subtasks. Allocate the order of each item, write it down and follow this plan. Completely immerse yourself in working on the current task without distracting yourself from the others. This fragmentation will prevent you from wasting your energy, while missing important little things that you will end up fixing.
- Encouragement
At the first stages, while you have not yet worked out your rhythm of active work, this method is especially effective. The thought that a small reward awaits you for completing the task, and will lift your spirits, and add diligence. Reward yourself with small bonuses to your liking: a cup of your favorite coffee, time for a hobby, a walk or a trip to the movies, a chocolate bar.
- Allow yourself to make mistakes
This doesn’t mean that you absolve yourself of responsibility in advance for all the mistakes you might make, no. You have to get down to business with all seriousness, but understand with common sense that no one can ever be wrong. Mistakes are not a grave stone on the result of your labors, but only an obstacle that can be circumvented. Fear of mistakes and failures will not allow you to realize your full potential, you will always use only those abilities in which you are 100% sure. And unclaimed may be the strongest, but not developed because of fear of difficulty.
- Listen to your desires
Sometimes laziness can simply be an expression of an inner protest that you can’t articulate. If when you think about an upcoming task you are more likely to think that you “should” do it rather than “want to,” then it makes sense to think about the advisability of continuing to work. Think about whether you really need it and not someone else?
- Don’t forget about rest
Good results can only be shown by someone who allows himself to rest without considering it a weakness. Our strengths are not limitless; everyone has his or her own reserve of strength. Do not try to define your limits, so you can come to a complete exhaustion, including the moral one, which can kill even a strong motivation. Determine clear periods of activity and out of them disconnect from work, rest or go about your daily business.
Do not postpone the beginning of the fight against laziness to Monday, the beginning of the month or the first day of the new year. This only leads to a loss of your main and irreplaceable resource – time. And in a life free of laziness, active, full and bright, you will need it very much.
